I Daniel S. Read would like to welcome you to my practice in Knoxville, Tn. I have been practicing in the Knoxville area since 1997. I attended University School of Milwaukee (1975), Emory University (1979) and the University Of Florida College Of Dentistry (1983). After dental school I entered the Air Force to complete a general practice residency at Barksdales, AFB (1984). I then toured in Korea, Germany and back to the states at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. Upon leaving the Air Force I completed my oral & maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Florida Health and Science Center in Jacksonville, FL (1993).
I am currently board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the Tennessee Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as the American Dental Society and Second District Dental Society. I enjoy a full scope of practice with my extensive training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. My areas of expertise include services for extraction of Wisdom Teeth, Dental Implants, Bone Grafting, Simple and Surgical Extractions, Pre-Prosthetic Surgery, TMJ Trauma, Pathology and office based anesthesia/sedation.
Before coming to Knoxville I was in private practice in Gainesville, Florida at the Duke VA (1993). After meeting my wife Chris Testerman a native of the Knoxville area, we landed here in Knoxville where we started our family and are happy to call our home. My wife Chris and I have triplets John, Rick and Madison and our pet Corgi named Emi. My hobbies include fishing, hunting, tennis, skiing, hiking, boating and spending time with family. I invite you to browse my website for information about your health and I along with my highly trained team look forward to meeting you and satisfying your oral surgery needs.
